Women in Men's locker rooms

Is this a thing now ?

Seems it is at my local LA Fitness. It started w/ a sign at the door. Several months ago. Something that read like - Attention ! Women custodial workers may be walking in and out of the Men's locker room. Sorry for the inconvenience. *

Now, 2 things. 1. They almost exclusively stayed out of the dressing area, meaning they'd walk in, down the side where all the sinks and vanity mirrors were, empty the garbage, restock some paper supplies... I never saw them stick around for very long. And 2. Every one of them was ...well, to be politically correct - looked like a short, stocky Latino lady you'd expect to find in a hotel maid service.

Until today. This time, the sign was up, so I had become use to seeing ' la muchacha ' or what ever, waddle in and then waddle out... meh. Not crazy at the idea... what would the ladies think if some pot bellied mustached guy ...yeah, never mind.

So I hear a female voice , look up, and there's a guy , from LA Fitness, acting like a crossing guard, to make sure the coast is clear. I'm covered up, no worries, and the place is near empty, so I get the green light, and go on my merry way. I do look in the area w/ the sinks and stalls, and sure enough, a young blonde gal is pushing the mob and bucket around.

Am I missing something ? Did we have some world war that took the lives of half the males in our society, and because of that, there's a shortage of abled bodied workers ? Why can't one of the male LA Fitness guys suck it up and do a couple of passes through the locker rooms during the day ? Why must they employ not just women, but now - yeah, I'll say it, attractive YOUNG women to clean and restock during business hours ?

So you're cool with dudes from LA Fitness checking out your junk, but not hot young blonde females? Whatever, that's cool.

That's pretty much the way it's been throughout American history, yeah.

I think theyre more worried about protection for them against you than protection for you against them.

Easy solution. Just make everyone in the locker room disrobe, regardless of whether you work there or not.

That makes no sense in regards to the story he just told.

She shouldn't be in a men's locker room cleaning up ... she should be at home cleaning up, after preparing a meal all while barefoot & pregnant

There really is no reason for this. The establishment simply doesn't want to invest the time to find a man to do the job. They figure the guys in the locker room will just deal with it.

Now, I bet they wouldn't hire a man to clean the women's locker room during the day.

They have, but I don't think it's the best idea we've ever had.

I think Raptor's point was something along the lines of why didn't the guy employee who was watching the door just do the cleaning in the men's room?

    Problem solved...

So should the male employee clean the women's locker room? Should they hire a male employee to do the men's and a female to the women's?

Well, my MAIN point it simple. Chicks out not be allowed to wander through men's locker rooms during business hours, and vica versa.

As for the male janitors, IDK what, if any problems there were, but mainly this location seems to be going through a fair bit of effort to put cleaning women in guy's locker rooms. I don't see the same effort to put guys in women's locker rooms, so I have to wonder, why the unfair treatment ?

That story could be the beginning of a porn scene.....cleaning girl comes in the guys locker room.....bow chicka wow wow....

Used to be controversial. Shoot, even female reporters asking questions at halftime were not warmly received at first...

the problem I see is that sooner or later one of the women will sue for sexual harassment if they see a man with no clothes on. They will sue the gym for putting them in an unsafe work place and the guy will be sued and arrested for sexual misconduct.

It's a waste of $ to hire 2 people to clean the separate locker rooms. I see nothing wrong with asking a make/female employee to clear the way for the opposite sex to clean.

Members of the opposite sex could clean the locker room outside business hours. The guy who cleans our locker room is mopping, cleaning toilets, cleaning the showers, replacing paper towels and soap, etc in addition to cleaning the rest of the common areas. I

If you need to shower and change and a woman is in there for a hour cleaning, are you just outta luck?

I expect this. She would win too.

I realize in gym locker rooms there is more areas of undress, but if it is cleared by a same-sex employee there is nothing wrong with that. In college working for Walmart I cleaned the womens toilets. Not a big deal.

is it ok for female cleaners to clean mens locker rooms
